Why do Muslims drink Bismillah before water?
When we recite Bismillah while drinking water, we acknowledge the fact that it is only by Allah's SWT grace and favor we got the glass of water in our hand. All the living beings are dependent on water and that is why Allah SWT made two-thirds of this world into water and one-third as land where we live.
'Bismillah' literally means that we start our action seeking help and blessings through the name of Allah.
When meal is ready: "Allahumma barik lana fima razaqtana waqina athaban-nar. " (Translation: O God! Bless the food You have provided us and save us from the punishment of the hellfire.) While starting to eat: bismillah ("In the name of God")
Generally, we recite Bismillah before any action. By doing so, we ask for Allah's blessings and remind ourselves that everything we do is by the will of Allah. Thus, when we recite Bismillah before starting our meal, we ask Allah to bless us with barakah in rizq.
It is not actually part of Islam. The ceremony marks how a child should read the Qur'an and say prayers properly.
Every morning, upon waking up the Prophet (PBUH) would drink a cup of warm water with honey before his prayers and breakfast.

Therefore, in light of the aforementioned hadiths, if you want to make dua while drinking Zamzam water, start by reciting “Bismillah,” followed by making a strong intention of whatever you wish, and drink the Zamzam water in three gulps while standing and facing the Qiblah (Holy Kaaba).
Why should we drink water in three sips?
Sipping water and allowing it to stay in the mouth and then passing through the food pipe helps the alkaline saliva reach the stomach to neutralise acid levels in the stomach. Chugging water directly through a bottle causes water to run down the throat, missing out on carrying saliva to the stomach.
