Is the King of Jordan Shia or Sunni?
Shia Muslims are a numerical majority in Iraq and Bahrain. Approximately 35% of the population in Yemen and half of the Muslims in Lebanon are Shia Muslims. There is also a very large population of Shia Muslims living in the Persian Gulf countries especially in Saudi Arabia.
More than 92% of Jordanians are Muslims and approximately 8% are Christians. The majority of Christians belong to the Greek Orthodox Church; but there are also Greek Catholics, Roman Catholics , Syrian Orthodox, Coptic Orthodox, Armenian Orthodox, and a few Protestant denominations.
Sunni Islam is the dominant religion in Jordan. Muslims make up about 97% of the country's population and some Shiites. Many Shia in Jordan are refugees from Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq.
Islam is practiced by 90% of Egyptians. Most Egyptian Muslims are Sunni and follow the Maliki school of jurisprudence, though all legal schools are represented. Shi'a Muslims make up a small minority.
Even though Jordan is largely a Muslim country, drinking alcohol is not a social taboo; it is readily available in restaurants and hotels. There are also bars in tourist areas and some of the major cities particularly those with a significant Christian community.
Most Muslims in Turkey are Sunni Muslims forming about 90%, and Shia-Aleviler (Alevis, Ja'faris and Alawites) denominations in total form up to 10% of the Muslim population.
Approximately 11 percent of the population are citizens, of whom more than 85 percent are Sunni Muslims, according to media reports. The vast majority of the remainder are Shia Muslims, who are concentrated in the Emirates of Dubai and Sharjah.

What religion is Lebanon?
According to latest global estimations, 61% of Lebanon's population identify as Muslim while 33.7% identify as Christian. However, the dominant belief in Islam is that, not only is the consumption of alcohol in any of its forms forbidden, but Muslims should avoid even indirect association with alcohol.
The prohibition of pork in Islam may be found and mentioned directly in four chapter of Qur'an, i.e.: Al-Baqarah (2:173), Al-Ma'idah (5:3), Al-An'am (6:145), and Al-Nahl (16:115). From this four verses one can say that pork is totally prohibited in Islam to Muslim and non-Muslims as well.
While most Israelis are Jewish, a growing share (currently about one-in-five adults) belong to other groups. Most non-Jewish residents of Israel are ethnically Arab and identify, religiously, as Muslims, Christians or Druze.
In the 1980s, not only was President Saddam Hussein a Sunni, but he was the vice chairman of the ruling Baath Party (Arab Socialist Resurrection). One of the two deputy prime ministers and the defense minister were also Sunnis.

Good fish (samak) is rare in Jordan. Pork is forbidden under Islam and only appears at expensive Asian restaurants. Simple meals of chicken, stew or kebabs won't cost more than about JD5 for a stomach-filling, if not a gourmet, experience.
What is this? Unlike Iran and Saudi Arabia, women in Jordan are not required to wear hijabs or cover up otherwise. Jordan is quite liberal compared to some of its neighbors, and in parts of Amman, nearly everyone is dressed Western-style. Beyond that, Western women are held to different standards than locals.
Are unmarried couples allowed in Jordan?
Although co-habitation for unmarried foreign couples of the opposite sex isn't illegal, it may be frowned upon. Some landlords may even ask if you are married or ask for a marriage certificate.

The Turks began converting to Islam after the Muslim conquest of Transoxiana through the efforts of missionaries, Sufis, and merchants. Although initiated by the Arabs, the conversion of the Turks to Islam was filtered through Persian and Central Asian culture.
Islam and the Kuwaiti Constitution
Islam and the Islamic Sharia (Islamic law) are the main sources of the Kuwaiti Laws and Legislations. Most of the Kuwaiti population embraces Islam. Majority of the Kuwaiti Muslims are Sunnis and the rest are Shia'a.
The state religion in Qatar is Islam. Most Qataris belong to the Sunni sect of Islam. Shiites comprise around 10% of Qatar's Muslim population.
Shia Muslims are granted freedom to worship, and maintain their mosques. Shias may also pursue family law cases through a special Shia council. Most Shias are concentrated in the emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
Since the late 18th century, most of Iraq's Sunni Arab tribes converted to Shia Islam (particularly in the 19th century). During the 19th century, the Ottoman Empire instituted a policy of settling the semi-nomadic Sunni Arab tribes to create greater centralization in Iraq.
More than 99 percent of the population is Sunni Muslim, and less than 0.1 percent of the population is Shia Muslim. Groups together constituting less than 1 percent of the population include Christians, Jews, and Baha'is.
The modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was formed in 1932 by the House of Saud, who are followers of a movement within Sunni Islam known as Wahhabism.

Are there Shia in Egypt?
Estimates tend to range from 800,000 to two million out of Egypt's total population of about 90 million. Shi'a Islam is deeply rooted in Egypt, and Cairo was in fact founded, named and established as a capital city in 969 by the Shi'a Fatimid dynasty which ruled Egypt for 200 years.
The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a majority Muslim country with 95% of the population following Sunni Islam while a small minority follow Shiite branches. There are also about 20,000 to 32,000 Druze living mostly in the north of Jordan, even though most Druze no longer consider themselves Muslim.

According to the Qur'an, only eating meat of pig is forbidden. Some people take this simple instruction too far. There is nothing anywhere in Islam that you cannot touch a pig.
Most Hindus are vegetarian. The cow is viewed as a sacred animal so even meat-eating Hindus may not eat beef.

Israelite tradition identified YHWH (by scholarly convention pronounced Yahweh), the God of Israel, with the creator of the world, who had been known and worshipped from the beginning of time.
